"Realization and enjoyment cannot go side by side."----Sri Sri Babathkur

Swasamvedya Swanubhavadeva Sri Sri Babathakur who is a God-man indeed is pointing out that realization (God-Realization, Self-Realization)and enjoyment (feelings of pleasure and pain, good and bad, wanted and unwanted etc., all worldly feelings) cannot go side by side. He is making it absolutely clear that in realization mind gets absolutely dissolved in Self-Absolute. Self-Absolute is the only source of mind but in no way it is attached to or dependent on mind. Tattvata i.e. in reality the Self-Absolute has nothing to do with mind apart from remaining eternal witness to the rise, stay and dissolution of the human mind respectively from, on and in the Brahman-Absolute, the Self-Absolute. Thus the Self-Absolute is the eternal background for the mind to pop up, play for sometime and to get dissolved again in its background reality the Atman-Absolute, the Brahman-Absolute, the Self-Absolute.
On the contrary, Sri Sri Babathakur says enjoyment is totally dependent on mind. No mind, no enjoyment. Mind according to Him is an instrument ( a karan = an instrument, in Sanskrit) which is the only and the only source of the entire creation. As a proof of it He points out very compassionately that in our deep sleep state we cannot express anything about our pleasure or pain etc. etc. Expressing oneself in anyway in ones deep-sleep state is utterly impossible for anyone . Because, to express in anyway we require the help of our mind and that very mind remains temporarily dormant in our deep-sleep state. Sri Sri Babathakur is referring this state as "not knowing state". In Bengali language He refers it as "samasti ajnan abastha". This is the state when mind reposes and at the change of the state i.e. in awakened state ("jagrata abastha") mind springs back into action and thus unfurls the world drama again.
